Colombian singer, Shakira, and her two sons, Sasha, five, and Milan, seven enjoyed a fun day at the Barcelona beach on Thursday, June 25. 

The 43-year-old singer, who rocked a Roxy suit, went for bodyboarding with her boys, showing off her skills.

As Nigeria plans for the resumption of international flights on Saturday, September 5, September 5, the Federal Government has barred some airlines from operating in Nigeria. Legendary Nigerian guitarist, Berkley Ike Jones of the defunct BLO is dead. Berkeley Ike Jones died weeks to his 72nd birthday. He died last night, June 28, in Asaba where he went for a job. Ike first appeared on the Nigerian music scene in the mid-1960s, as the drummer in the Port Harcourt-based teen pop group The Figures. In 1970, at the end of the Nigerian civil war, he signed on as lead guitarist in the rock n’ soul band The Funkees, where his adventurous guitar lines got him noticed by talent scouts who instantly whisked him off to Lagos and installed him in the high profile rock group The Clusters. The Clusters soon morphed into the Afro Collection under the leadership of Tee Mac Iseli, and then into SALT under Ginger Baker. Eventually the group splintered, giving birth to Nigeria’s first afro-rock power trio BLO–Berkley Ike Jones, Laolu Akins, and Mike Gbenga Odumosu. BLO was the rave in the 70s and early 80s. EFCC arraigns bank manager for $50,000 fraud in Onitsha (photo)

  The Enugu Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Thursday, October  9, arraigned a former manager of the main market branch, Heritage Bank Limited, Fidel Omeje, before Justice D.A Onyefulu of State High Court, Onitsha on one count charge of stealing to the tune of Fifty Thousand United States Dollars ( $50,000) .   The offence according to the charge sheet is contrary to Section 342 of the Criminal Code Law Cap 36,Anambra State and punishable under Section 353 (6) and (9) of the same law.   A statement released by Wilson Uwajeren, the spokesperson of EFCC, alleged that Omeje, used her position as a manager of the bank and account officer of the complainant, to withdraw the said sum from the domiciliary account of the complainant on July 20, 2011 without authorization and converted same to personal use.   The statement added that the defendant pleaded not guilty upon arraignment, prompting the prosecuting counsel, Mike Ani to request...
