Man who lost a leg after allegedly being shot by SARS during arrest for crime he ''didn't commit'' is discharged and acquitted after spending 5 years in prison

A man has been discharged and acquitted after spending 5 years in prison for a crime he says he didn't commit.

According to youth advocate, Oluyemi Fasipe, the man was mistakenly arrested alongside some kidnappers. During the arrest, he was allegedly shot by SARS and his leg had to be amputated.

 

He spent 5 years in jail and was acquitted on Friday, Nov 27.

Oluyemi said he spoke with the man's lawyer and advised him to write a petition to the Ondo State panel of inquiry on the victim's behalf.
