Pakistan's Prime Minister, Imran Khan has reportedly approved in principle a law on chemical castration of rapists in the  Local reports said Mr. Khan approved the law which would also fast track sexual assault cases during a federal cabinet meeting on Tuesday, November 24th. But Pakistan's government is yet to make an official announcement.    The decision was made after the law ministry presented a draft of the anti-rape ordinance at the meeting.   According to GeoTV, Kahn said in the meeting: 'We need to ensure a safe environment for our citizens.'   He reportedly said the legislation would be clear and transparent with strict enforcement by officials.   The draft legislation is expected to increase women's role in policing and improve witness protection.   Kahn said rape survivors will be able to register complaints without fear and will have their identities protected by the government.   Pakistan has witnessed an increase in incidents of rap...

Nine members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have condemned the impeachment of Iroju Ogundeji as the Deputy Speaker of the House.    The lawmakers who described the impeachment as unlawful, pointed out that section 92 sub 2C of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended requires a two-thirds majority and the provisions of the standing order of the House for the impeachment of the Speaker or his Deputy.   Two lawmakers – the Former Majority Leader, Jamiu Maito, representing Irele State Constituency and Ademola Edamisan – while speaking on behalf of the nine members said the motion for the impeachment of the deputy speaker was never moved at the session.    They declared the action as null and void and further stressed that it will not stand.     

Two men identified as Adekunle Osho, 31, and Chinedu Ugwu, 34, have been sentenced to death by hanging after being found guilty of armed robbery by an Ekiti State High Court.    The two robbers who were handed the sentence on Tuesday November 24, were reportedly involved in armed robbery and also linked to a stolen vehicle   They were convicted for robbing one Chief Ojo Gbenga of his Toyota Camry car and N150,000 cash on or about November 14, 2014 at Oke Ila, Tinuola area of Ado Ekiti. It was alleged that the men who blocked their victim with their own car while on his way home, shot him in the leg.    Passing the judgement, Justice Adekunle Adeleye said;   

President Buhari has pledged his administration's determination to end the estimated billing regime in electricity supply. President Buhari made the pledge via his Twitter handle today November 4. The President said the first phase of one million free meters distribution in some parts of the country is already underway.   According to him, 6.5 million meters, which would be locally sourced in the Presidential Mass Metering Initiative, would meet the national deficit and impact an estimated 30 million homes across the country.   “Under the first phase of the Presidential Mass Metering Initiative, we are making funding immediately available for DisCos to roll out 1,000,000 Meters in the first phase, at no cost to consumers. US President, Donald Trump, has denied reports he plans to declare victory on Tuesday night November 3, once it looks like he's ahead, even though it might take days or even weeks before battleground states like Pennsylvania finally count their votes.   According to a report by Axios on Sunday night November 1, Trump told confidants he'll declare victory on Tuesday night if it looks like he's "ahead," according to three sources familiar with his private comments. The Enugu state government has suspended the 13-hour curfew imposed on Enugu East, Enugu North, and Enugu South Local Government Areas following the hijacking of the peaceful #EndSARS protests in the state by hoodlums.    The state Commissioner for Information Nnanyelugo Aroh who made the announcement said the decision was taken after a review of the overall situation in the three local government areas.    Residents of the Enugu local government areas have been advised to go about their lawful social and economic activities while remaining vigilant and law-abiding as usual, following the suspension of the curfew on Monday, November 2.   

Rahma Sadau has reacted to the backlash she received on Twitter earlier today after posting these photos of herself in a dress showing her back.   Many Northerners slammed her for wearing a dress that is ''Unislamic''.   Thirty-one-year-old, Rexlawson Jonson, pictured above, who is an indigene of Ebonyi State, was arrested by men of the Ogun State police command on October 30 over the alleged gruesome murder of his 26-year-old girlfriend, Patricia John. An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos has ordered seven men to be remanded in Ikoyi Custodial Centre for allegedly gang-raping 11-year-old Favor Okechukwu to death.    The suspects, Ajom Tabi, 37; Omobolanle Olowookere, 41; Aliu Bilyamin, 24; Emmanuel Okon, 24; Bolarinwa Olamilekan, 24; Badmus Abdulateef, 20; Azeez Quadri, 22; and Sunday Odunayo, 22, were arraigned on Friday, October 30th. They were charged with three counts of rape, murder, and defilement. According to reports, Chief Magistrate O.G. Oghre did not take the plea of the suspects pending legal advice. She instead ordered the police to return the case file to the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).   The magistrate also granted bail to Olowookere (the second suspect) after counsel, Spurgeon Ataene, told the court of her non- involvement in the case. The US Senate has confirmed Amy Coney Barrette as the new Supreme Court Justice, a huge victory lap for President Donald Trump few weeks to the US presidential election. Amy Coney Barrett who was at the White House, took the first of two oaths to join the Supreme Court and will officially join the bench after taking the second oath on Tuesday.   The new US Supreme Court Justice Barrett stated that she has no specific agenda and will always adhere to the laws of the constitution.     She said, “The oath that I have solemnly taken tonight means at its core that I’ll do my job without any fear or favour.”   Justice Amy Coney Barrett swearing in as the newest member of the Supreme Court comes after Trump promised to add another Supreme Court Justice to the bench after the death of Ruth Ginsberg.   Barrett's confirmation means Trump has sworn in three Conservative judges during his first four years in office, turning the Supreme Court to a conservative majority. ...

US Democratic Party presidential candidate, Joe Biden mistakenly referred to US President, Donald Trump as 'George' during a live interview, mistaking him for George Bush in a new gaffe.   The 77-year-old made the gaffe as he spoke to supporters during an 'I Will Vote Concert' virtual event alongside his wife Jill. "What kind of country we're gonna be? Four more years of George, ah, George...," he said before Mrs. Biden corrected him under her breath.     Quickly correcting himself, he continued: "Gonna find ourselves in a position where if Trump gets elected we're going to be in a different world."   Trump on his official Twitter page reacted, Trump wrote; "Joe Biden called me George yesterday. Osun State residents who were caught violating the curfew imposed by Governor Gboyega Oyetola were subjected to rigorous punishment by Nigerian soldiers in Ilesha.    The violators were forced to lie in muddy water before being flogged by the soldiers.
